Level III+ 4.4 lbs Multi-curve Armor Plate (TALVLIII+)

Tacticon Armament’s Level III+ Multi-Curve lightweight armor is a composite of ceramic and UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) weighing only 4.4 lbs. This armor plate has been tested to the NIJ .06 standard to stop (6) shots of the 7.62×51 (M80). In addition, this plate also has capabilities to stop the 5.56 M855 Green Tip which some Level III applications have a hard time stopping. The Level III+ Multi-Curve armor plate is by far one of the most versatile systems we offer that will give you all the protection you would ever need (see our Level IV Armor if you are expecting a .30 Cal M2AP threat). In order to increase the ergonomics and the comfort of the plate, we made sure to include it as a multi-curve system that will conform to your Torso.

Will it stop a 7.62×39 or 5.56?

Yes! This plate was designed to stop the 7.62×39 (122 gr) MSC, 5.56 in the M193/M855 variations.

Is it Multi-hit?

Yes. It was designed to easily defeat 6 shots of 7.62×51 (m80) while maintaining trauma in the acceptable range of under 44mm.

What is the “+”?

For our application, the “+” means that the plate can also stop the M855 62 gr Green Tip.

What is the TPU (Thermal Polyurethane)?

TPU or short for Thermal Polyurethane is a plastic that is heated in order to vacuum form around our plates. After the vacuum forming process, we seal the edges with TPU to create a water tight seal that will keep moisture and even repel diesel. One of the most overlooked processes of a plate is making sure that the covering is secure to prevent moisture or foreign material from compromising the integrity of the composite armor.
